1. Using Our Website and Placing Orders
- Browse and select the meal package that suits your needs.
- Add your selected package to the cart and proceed to checkout.
- A minimum order value (excluding VAT) applies to all purchases.
- Orders are processed once payment is received and are delivered within 3–5 working days. Deliveries occur Monday–Thursday, 08:00–16:00.
- No deliveries on weekends or public holidays.
- If you wish to place your order on hold, please email orders@smartmeals.co.za within 5 hours of placing your order.
- Stock Shortages:
In rare cases, Smart Meals may replace out of stock items with suitable alternatives from the same category. For custom orders, customers will be notified of unavailable items and given replacement options.
2. Payments
- We use Netcash Pay Now, a secure South African payment gateway.
- Payments are processed in South African Rand (ZAR).
- Accepted payment methods:
- Credit & Debit Cards: Visa, MasterCard
- Instant EFT
- If your bank does not support 3D Secure for Instant EFT, please follow these steps:
- Select EFT during checkout.
- Load Smart Meals as a beneficiary.
- Use your order number as the reference.
3. Promotions, Coupons & Vouchers
- Valid for first-time or existing customers based on the promotion.
- Codes are valid for 48 hours unless otherwise stated.
- One-time use only and non-refundable.
- Cannot be used during sales or combined with other offers.
- Minimum spend to redeem: R550.
4. Shipping & Delivery
- Delivery occurs Monday to Thursday, 09:00–16:00.
- Please allow up to 7 working days for delivery during peak periods.
- You may be contacted to reschedule due to delays (e.g., strikes, high traffic).
- If you’re unavailable at the scheduled time, an additional delivery fee will apply.
- Delivery fees are calculated by area from our nearest depot.
Collection Option
- If you opt for collection, we’ll notify you when your order is ready.
- If switching from collection to delivery, delivery fees will apply (cash on delivery).
- If switching from delivery to collection, the delivery fee is non-refundable.
Missed Deliveries
- If delivery attempts exceed 3 times, a new delivery fee will be charged.

Third Party Courier Service:
Delivery Process & Timelines:
- Orders are prepared and shipped according to the schedule provided by our courier partners.
- Delivery times may differ based on your location and the courier’s operational routes.
- Once your order has been dispatched, you’ll receive tracking details to follow its progress.
- The courier will contact you directly with any delivery updates or changes.
- Please note that we do not have control over Courier Guy’s delivery schedules and cannot be held responsible for any delays caused by the courier service.
While we take great care to package all meals securely using dry ice, gel packs and insulated boxes, we cannot be held responsible for any delays or damages that occur once the order is in the courier’s possession.
5. Allergens & Ingredients
- All Smart Meals are prepared in a facility that handles dairy, gluten, eggs, soya, and nuts.
- Garlic is used in most of our recipes.
- Please review allergen info on our website and product packaging.
6. Product Availability
If a product is unavailable, a comparable item from the same range will be substituted. For custom boxes, we will notify you of any unavailable items before processing.
7. Disclaimer
- Product weights may vary by up to ±10–15g.
- Microwaving from frozen may reduce weight due to water loss.
- We make no guarantees about the completeness or accuracy of the content on our site.
- We disclaim all liability for damages resulting from use or misuse of the information provided.
- Use of this site is subject to local laws and restrictions where applicable.
8. Refunds & Cancellations
- Cancellations must be submitted in writing within 3 days of delivery.
- If the issue is not due to Smart Meals, the following applies:
- R200 admin & handling fee
- 3.5% deduction of total package cost
- R100 collection fee
- Items must be returned frozen and in original packaging.
- We do not accept returns of defrosted products for health and safety reasons.
- Consumed meals will be charged at current pricing.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. Any disputes will be handled under South African jurisdiction.
10. Updates to Terms
- Smart Meals reserves the right to modify these Terms & Conditions at any time.
- Updated terms become effective upon publication on our website.
- Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of any changes
